PNC specializes in helping parents, caregivers, organizations, and others improve academic and social emotional outcomes for children. Through high quality training and workshops clients will be provided tips, strategies, and resources aimed at helping children thrive at home and in their communities. Imperfect Positive Parenting Through a Pandemic

This workshop is designed to help parents identify tools and resources that can be used to make parenting less stressful during the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants will learn about self-care for parents, distance learning tips, family bonding activities, mental health supports for children, and more.

The Impact of Social Media on Youth Mental Health

This workshop is designed for teens and parents. It will focus on the pros and cons of social media and how parents and caregivers can work with youth to make sure the dangers of social media are not negatively impacting their children’s mental and physical health.

 Imperfect Positive Parenting for Caregivers of Children in Foster Care

This workshop is designed to help caregivers identify various ways to support children in foster care with educational needs, behavior challenges, mental health needs, relationship building, and more

 
 
 

Imperfect Positive Parenting after a Divorce

This workshop is designed to focus on the needs of children during and after a divorce. It will highlight ways in which parents can work together to help kids cope, build resilience, and understand that divorce is not the child’s fault.

 

Trauma-Informed Strategies for Parents

This workshop is designed to help parents get a better understanding of how trauma affects children. Participants will learn various strategies on how to:

  • Identify signs of trauma in children

  • Support children with outward and inward behavior challenges due to trauma

  • Identify triggers that may be impeding a child’s academic learning and ability to cope

  • Help children build the kind of resilience needed to cope with trauma

 
 

Trauma-Informed Strategies for Organizations

This workshop is designed to help organizations get a better understanding of how trauma affects children. Participants will learn specific strategies on how to:

  • Become a trauma-informed and trauma-responsive organization

  • Identify signs of trauma in children

  • Support children with outward and inward behavior challenges due to trauma

  • Identify triggers that may be impeding a child’s academic learning and ability to cope

  • Help children build the kind of resilience needed to cope with trauma

Identify the needs of staff impacted by secondary trauma and develop an organizational self-care plan

 

Human Trafficking Awareness for Parents and Caregivers

This workshop is designed to educate parents on the dangers of human trafficking. Participants will learn about how victims are recruited, the dangers of social media, and how to talk to children about the signs and dangers of human trafficking.

 

Positive Communication and Relationship Building for Parents and Children

This workshop is designed to provide parents and caregivers with strategies for building positive relationships with their children. It will focus on communication, bonding activities, and identifying emotional needs of young children and teens.

 

Building Positive Mental Health in Children

Is your child sad more than he/she should be? Does your child appear to be isolated and lonely? Do you try to talk to them about how they feel, but they pretend everything is ok? This workshop is designed to help parents identify and support children’s mental health needs. Participants will learn the difference between mental health and mental illness. They will also receive various resources, including information about support groups, that will help them, help their children improve mental health.

 

 Identifying Your Child’s Strengths and Talents

Is your child a talker? Do they love working with their hands, taking things apart, reading long books, drawing, and more? Have you ever wondered how to help your tap into their greatness? Well, this workshop is designed to introduce parents to tools and resources that can be used to identify children’s strengths and talents. Participants will learn how to use the information to help their child utilize their strengths in various settings including school, extracurricular activities, and among friends.

 

Let’s Talk About Sex

Are you afraid or nervous to talk to your child about sex? Are you waiting for the right age, the right time, and the right things to say? Well if so, this workshop is right for you. Participants will learn strategies and tips on how to have age-appropriate conversations with children about sex, sexual development, and dating.

 

Parent Paranoia: You’re Good Enough Just The Way You Are

Have you ever questioned your parenting skills? Do you compare yourself to other parents and wish you could be like them? If so, then this workshop is right for you. We will work together to help parents and caregivers understand that you are perfect just the way you are. Imperfect positive parenting is not hard and recognizes that all parents learn from mistakes. Participants will learn parenting strategies and identify their strengths as a parent and here from others as we support one another on our parenting journey.
